Overview

Division and Position

OSI Laserdiode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, is seeking an Assembler. The role involves wiring, soldering, and assembling microscopic components into subassemblies or complete laser systems and fiber optic products. The assembler will also test the final products to ensure they meet specifications, following customer requirements, procedures, or specific instructions.

Responsibilities
  1. Epoxy assembly of optoelectronic devices, laser serialization, lead forming, component assembly, and visual inspections.
  2. Wirebonding of laser subassemblies and final products; inspection and soldering of small components as required.
  3. Completing travelers and entering data into computer spreadsheets.
  4. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
  5. Performing other duties as assigned.
  6. Upholding the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  7. Demonstrating behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  8. Reporting any quality issues or defects to management for corrective actions.
  9. Adapting duties as needed to meet business requirements.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Knowledge of wire bonding equipment is a plus.
  3. Ability to handle lab chemicals safely (epoxy, acetone, methanol, propanol) following procedures.
  4. Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  5. Ability to handle sensitive components and use a microscope for product placement.
  6. Experience with small electronic devices and handheld tools is advantageous.
  7. Flexibility to work split shifts or extended hours.
  8. Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
