Job Description

Job Summary:

Mercury Systems is seeking the world's best and brightest to help us bring Silicon Valley technology to commercial applications in the aerospace and defense industry The Lead Solder Assembler performs various assembly tasks using complex hand soldering of RF microwave subassemblies including RF feeds, ribbons and magnet wires. In addition, the Lead will coach, train, and mentor more junior solder assemblers.

Job Responsibility:

• Perform inline inspections Interact with multiple departments including Production, Planning, Purchasing, Process Engineering, Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality and other Mercury Systems business units.

• Lead, direct and review junior assemblers work, to accomplish operational plans and results.


• Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble, experimental or prototype, assemblies/subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.


• Interpret Job Routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.


• of assemblies to ensure they meet/exceed IPC standards.


• Other duties as assigned.
  

Required Qualification:

• High School Diploma or GED.


• 5+ years of work experience in manufacturing, with group leader experience.

• Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.


• Experience with board mount, die attach, soldering, or mechanical assembly.


• Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures.


• Ability to read and follow assembly drawings and verbal instructions.


• Ability to work under microscope.


• Ability to multi-task and work in a flexible and changing environment with multiple competing deadlines.


• Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.


• Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives, on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualification:

• Electronics assembly and inspection experience.


• J-STD-001 Certified.


• Knowledge of or certified in IPC-A-610.


• Must be detail oriented and able to multitask.


• Interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.

Specific abilities may be requested for overtime during peak business hours throughout the year.
