Job summary

Kinetic Engine Systems in Westfield, MA is seeking an assembler to join the manufacturing team. You will assemble parts on the line following blueprints and instructions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2+ years of assembly experience, and familiarity with hand/power tools and reading basic blueprints.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and willingness to work overtime, including weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; tech school preferred.
  • 2+ years of assembly experience in manufacturing.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools; fastener installation/torquing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Assemble assigned parts on the assembly line per production guidelines.
  • Inspect assemblies to verify integrity and performance; report defects.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery with precision.
  • Collaborate with other line workers to meet production goals.
  • Complete production paperwork and inspection procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory and tracking materials.
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Prepare work by studying parts lists and gathering parts and tools.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and adjust as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Job description

Job Position Summary:You will be responsible for the assembling of individual parts into a finished product or component, by following blueprints and instructions.

You must have:

  • A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred
  • 2+ Years of assembly experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry is Preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of fastener installation and torquing processes.
  • The ability to follow instructions
  • The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets.
  • Basic troubleshooting Skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • The ability to do complex assembly of parts.
  • The ability to work with close tolerance.
  • The ability to work overtime, including weekends

In your role, you will:

  • Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Assemble assigned parts on assembly line in accordance with production guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections to verify the integrity and performance of assembled parts, identifying defects, and reporting them.
  • Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble parts, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with other assembly line workers to meet production goals.
  • Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory, checking stock levels, and tracking materials
  • Interpret and analyze schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions to guide the assembly process.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean organized work area.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
  • May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
