Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring an Assembler in Spring Grove, IL. The role involves assembling electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, inspecting finished work, and helping maintain safe, accurate, and efficient factory operations.

You will read wiring diagrams and use hand tools to build harnesses, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Prior assembly experience and attention to detail are valued in this growing manufacturing team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous assembly, manufacturing, or production training is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies according to specifications.
  • Route, place, and secure wire leads on harness form boards.
  • Apply cable ties, insulation, tubing, braided sleeves, electrical tape, and heat shrink materials.
  • Insert terminated wires into connector housings and verify proper retention.
  • Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric screwdrivers during assembly.
  • Test completed wiring harnesses and verify product quality.
  • Read labels, work instructions, and assembly documentation.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Job Duties
  • Assemble electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies according to specifications.
  • Route, place, and secure wire leads on harness form boards.
  • Apply cable ties, insulation, tubing, braided sleeves, electrical tape, and heat shrink materials.
  • Insert terminated wires into connector housings and verify proper retention.
  • Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric screwdrivers during assembly.
  • Perform harness braiding and operate braiding equipment.
  • Test completed wiring harnesses and verify product quality.
  • Read labels, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
  • Assist with additional assembly and production tasks as assigned.
  • Perform soldering and tin dipping operations when required.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, including entire shifts.
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and read small alphanumeric characters.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work at a consistent pace while meeting production goals.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift components, materials, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle parts and operate assembly tools or equipment.
  • Ability to maintain productivity in a factory environment while following established safety procedures.
