Job summary

Tomball Controls in Texas is seeking a skilled shop personnel to perform fabrication and assembly tasks on fuel tanks, enclosures, and access platforms, ensuring conformance to specifications.

You will measure, layout, cut, sand, and assemble components with hand tools and forklifts, inspect products for defects, and handle material movement on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Measure, compare and perform shop calculations to ensure conformance with engineering or sales specs.
• Perform material fit ups and layouts with steel.
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools and forklifts.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects or malfunctions.
• Sand and grind surfaces as required.
• Break out steel and assemble steel panels with bolt-together construction.
• Handle materials and operate forklift as needed.

Core Responsibility

• Measure, compare and make simple or complex shop calculations necessary to ensure products are in conformance with engineering or sales specifications using materials, methods and equipment in the shop (included but not limited to sanders, drills, air, and electric hand cutting tools)
• Material fit ups and layouts with steel
• Position and secure workpieces using hand tools, forklifts, etc.
• Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions
• Sanding/grinding
• Breaking out steel
• Steel panel assembly with bolt together construction
• Material handling/forklift
