Aerotek is seeking an Assembler / Assembly Technician for our Roanoke, TX facility. You will perform hands-on mechanical assembly of natural gas fuel systems, reading work orders, blueprints, and schedules to determine the required operations and parts.

Work includes using hand/power tools, operating equipment, documenting processes, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This onsite role offers a contract-to-hire path with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

Job Title: Assembler / Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Assembly Technician performs hands‑on mechanical assembly of natural gas fuel systems across multiple production areas, working with a variety of materials, parts, and sub‑assemblies. This role involves reading and following detailed work instructions, using hand and power tools, and operating assembly equipment to build high‑quality fuel system assemblies that meet internal, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply a strong understanding of how materials, parts, and assemblies flow through the manufacturing and assembly process to ensure efficient production.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, production schedules, and operation sheets to determine the correct sequence of operations and materials needed for each assembly.
• Assemble sub‑assemblies, structural components, and plumbing for natural gas fuel systems according to established procedures and specifications.
• Follow all required steps in the assembly standard work process to maintain consistency, quality, and safety.
• Inspect components during assembly to verify consistency, proper fit, and adherence to critical tolerances.
• Check all completed assembly work to ensure it is free of defects prior to final quality control inspection.
• Operate, clean, and maintain various types of tooling and equipment used in the assembly process.
• Complete accurate handwritten and electronic documentation for records and data associated with assembly operations to ensure compliance with internal, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Use personal computer systems and ERP business software as required for the specific area of responsibility.
• Support and execute Lean assembly activities, contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Gain and maintain proficiency in assigned functions on the assembly line.
• If required to drive on behalf of the company, comply with all driving and insurability guidelines set by the company’s insurance carrier.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks accurately and safely.
• Prior manufacturing experience in a related industry is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, blueprints, production schedules, and operation sheets.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
• Personal computer skills, including familiarity with ERP business systems software relevant to the assembly area.
• Ability to complete handwritten and electronic documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to obtain Texas Railroad Commission certification for CNG service and installation within 45 days of hire.
• Ability to gain proficiency in assigned functions on the assembly line within expected timeframes.
• If driving is required for the role, possession of a current and valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurability guidelines set by the company’s insurance carrier.

This position is based in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing facility focused on assembling natural gas fuel systems. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 10‑hour shifts that include a half‑hour lunch and a mid‑morning break, and potential overtime opportunities on Fridays as needed through the end of the year and possibly longer. The role involves frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment, as well as regular interaction with computer and ERP systems for documentation and production tracking. Team members work in an industrial environment where appropriate safety gear is required, and allowances for safety boots and safety glasses are provided upon going direct, supporting a strong safety‑focused culture.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
