Job summary

Voeller Mixers is seeking an Assembler to build concrete mixing and batching equipment components per blueprints and work instructions. You will use hand and power tools, measure parts with precision instruments, and help ensure products meet safety and quality standards.

The role operates on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with duties including completing production paperwork and collaborating with team leads to address material or quality issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months to one year of assembly/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills with tape measure and precision tools.
  • Experience using hand and power tools (drills, impact wrenches, grinders).
  • Forklift/overhead crane certification a plus or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and BOMs to assemble mixer components to spec.
  • Use hand, pneumatic, and power tools to fit and fasten parts.
  • Position and secure parts with jigs and clamps prior to welding or riveting.
  • Measure assemblies with tape measures and calipers to verify tolerances.
  • Inspect components for defects and report discrepancies.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, or forklifts to move parts and assemblies.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area per 5S and safety guidelines.
  • Follow PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Communicate production schedules and material shortages with team.

Job description

Position Summary

The Assembler builds and assembles concrete mixing and batching equipment components and subassemblies according to blueprints, work instructions, and established quality standards. This role uses hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and material handling equipment to help ensure that all products meet Voeller Mixers’ standards for safety, quality, and craftsmanship.

This is a 1st shift postion Monday - Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and bills of materials to assemble mixer components and subassemblies to specification.
  • Select and use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools to fit, align, and fasten parts, fittings, and hardware.
  • Position, align, and secure parts using jigs, fixtures, and clamps prior to welding, bolting, or riveting.
  • Measure completed assemblies with tape measures, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
  • Inspect components and finished assemblies for defects, wear, or damage, and report or correct discrepancies as needed.
  • Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and/or forklifts to move parts and completed assemblies within the production area, as trained and certified.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and safety guidelines.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Complete production paperwork accurately and on time, including quantities produced, time studies, and quality checks.
  • Communicate with team leads, supervisors, and other departments regarding production schedules, material shortages, or quality issues.
  • Assist with training new assemblers on processes, tools, and safety procedures as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months to one year of experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or industrial production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills, including proficiency with tape measure, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Experience using hand and power tools (drills, impact wrenches, grinders, and similar equipment).
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification a plus, or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills for entering production data.
  • Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with assistance from lifting equipment or a coworker as needed for heavier items. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
