Aerotek is seeking an Assembler to perform basic assembly of transponders and beacons in a clean manufacturing environment in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role includes packaging, shipping responsibilities, and inventory updates on the computer during second shift.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in manufacturing or assembly, experience with electrical/mechanical assembly, and proficiency with hand tools. This is a contract position onsite with potential overtime and a fast-moving team.

Job Title: Assembler

$15/hr

M-TH 6am-3:30pm / Fri 6am-10am

Job Description

This role supports both assembly and shipping functions in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. You will perform basic assembly of transponders and beacons, as well as packaging and shipping tasks. Typical work includes attaching parts with screws, placing printed circuit boards and batteries, running wires, and updating inventory on the computer during second shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic assembly of transponders and beacons, including attaching components with screws, placing circuit boards and batteries, and routing wires according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and other basic tools to complete mechanical and electrical assembly tasks safely and accurately.

• Carry out electronic and mechanical assembly work, including wire assembly and soldering tasks if experienced.

• Follow written instructions, SOPs, and work orders to ensure products are assembled, packed, and shipped correctly.

• Support packaging and shipping operations by packing products into boxes, labeling, and preparing orders for shipment.

• Perform inventory control activities, including updating inventory in the computer system, especially on second shift.

• Conduct quality checks on assembled products and packaging to ensure they meet established standards.

• Work effectively in a manufacturing or warehouse-style production environment, maintaining an organized and clean work area.

• Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly in English to coordinate assembly and shipping tasks.

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and production processes while meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Essential Skills

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in an assembly role, which may include picking or packing in a warehouse setting.

• Previous assembly experience in electrical, mechanical, or wire assembly.

• Basic electrical and mechanical assembly experience, including working with small components.

• Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers and other basic tools used in assembly work.

• Ability to work from SOPs and written instructions to complete tasks accurately.

• Computer skills sufficient to update inventory and perform basic data entry tasks.

• Ability to pack and ship boxes following instructions and shipping requirements.

• Strong English communication skills to read instructions and communicate with team members.

• Comfort working in a warehouse or production environment rather than a retail setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous soldering experience in electronic assembly is helpful.

• Experience with electronic assembly and soldering techniques.

• Exp in inventory control and quality checking of assembled products.

• Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical assembly beyond basic use.

• Experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred.

Work Environment

The role is based in an air-conditioned, very organized, and clean production facility. Work is performed in a manufacturing or warehouse-style environment with assembly stations and shipping areas. First shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Second shift runs Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Some overtime may be required. Team members use standard hand tools and basic computer systems for inventory control. The dress code is casual and practical, allowing jeans, sneakers, and a clean t-shirt or collared shirt. No specific medical requirements, certifications, or personal protective equipment are required for this role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
