Job summary

Kustom Signals is seeking an early-career Assembler to join our production team in Chanute, Kansas. You will follow production drawings, assemble electronic components, wire harnesses, and final products to meet exacting quality standards in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to train for assembly tasks.
  • Ability to read and follow production instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow production drawings and instructions to complete assemblies.
  • Position and secure parts using soldering, crimping, and screwing.
  • Assemble components and subassemblies in housings and enclosures.
  • Visually inspect and test units to meet quality standards.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment with accurate accessories and docs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist with inventory.

What You'll Do

As an Assembler, you'll work as part of a team that builds high-performance electronic equipment from the ground up. You'll assemble electronic components, cable assemblies, and final products that meet our exacting quality standards. You'll also be responsible for kitting parts, inspecting assemblies, and preparing units for shipment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Follow production drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions to complete assemblies
  • Precisely position and secure parts using soldering, crimping, screwing, or similar techniques
  • Assemble and install electronic components and subassemblies in housings and enclosures
  • Perform visual inspections and basic testing to ensure each unit meets production standards
  • Rework and repair units as needed following specifications or direction
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, ensuring accuracy of accessories and documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Assist with inventory counts and kit hardware components for production

  • Familiarity with soldering and de-soldering techniques
  • Able to read and follow work instructions and production orders
  • Willingness to adapt to changes in routine

  • Experience using hand-held scanners is a plus
