Job summary

Maag Gala, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build and assemble the Maag family of equipment, including dryers and TWS systems, on the Eagle Rock assembly floor.

You will follow 2D drawings, perform rotor balancing, wire piping, and conduct leak tests, while maintaining quality and meeting customer delivery dates. The role requires physical effort and occasional overtime as needed, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical skills a plus.
  • Mechanical background and understanding of tools.
  • Desirable experience in assembly/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble dryer rotors and housings using hand and power tools from drawings.
  • Balance rotors on dryers using cranes and balancing equipment.
  • Assemble dryer components like agglomerate catchers and valves per drawings.
  • Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings with soap water and air.
  • Engrave equipment name plates with engraver or laser/dot peen marker.
  • Fill out check sheets to ensure quality.
  • Assemble piping using hand and power tools.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Objectives

The Mechanical Assembly Technician provides the highest quality work ethic and character for assembling the Maag family of equipment to include: Dryers of all sizes and TWS systems with an emphasis on hitting customer delivery dates.

Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies
  • Assemble dryer rotors and housings using hand tools and power tools by referencing 2D assembly drawings.
  • Balance rotors on all size dryers using over head cranes and balancing equipment.
  • Build and mount dryer component parts such as agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves using hand tools and air tools while referencing 2D assembly drawings .
  • Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings using soap water and air
  • Engrave equipment name plates using engraver (or) lazer marker (or) dot peen marker.
  • Fills out check sheets while assembling the equipment to ensure the quality of the product meets expectation.
  • Put together piping assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Work Environment

Work in this position is mainly at the Eagle Rock assembly floor but the incumbent could be asked to assembly at the Roanoke facility when needed.

While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.

The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee will be required to have fork lift training and regularly use lifts and ladders to assemble on structures off of the ground five feet or higher.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a warehouse situation and subject to changing environmental conditions. Including, but not limited to: temperature variations, humidity, rain, snow, wind and direct sunlight.

Job Specification

Education Mandatory High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus)

Pay Range: USD 18.00 - 23.00 Hourly
