You will perform mechanical assembly using hardware such as screws, nuts, bolts, and washers, and complete wiring tasks that require a solid understanding of electrical circuits and theory. The position offers steady full-time hours in a small, laid-back shop where you can build hands-on experience in electrical assembly while working as part of a close-knit team.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret tape measurements accurately to ensure precise assembly and component placement.

  • Perform mechanical assembly using screws, nuts, bolts, washers, and other fasteners to secure component parts to larger assemblies.

  • Carry out wiring tasks, including selecting appropriate wire sizes, stripping insulation, and performing crimping operations on terminals and connectors.

  • Apply electrical circuit knowledge and basic electrical theory to assemble and wire control panels and electrical control assemblies.

  • Work with AC and DC voltage systems and control relays as part of the assembly and wiring process, without working on live energized circuits.

  • Follow assembly instructions, drawings, and schematics to build custom electrical control assemblies to specification.

  • Use personal hand tools and equipment safely and effectively throughout the assembly process.

  • Lift and move components and assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs as needed to support production activities.

  • Collaborate with a small assembly team in a shop environment to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle materials and components with care to ensure quality and safety.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and shop procedures while working with electrical components and mechanical hardware.

  • Support consistent production output and help the team meet hard deadlines when project demand increases.

Essential Skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and apply measurements to mechanical and electrical assemblies.

  • At least 3 years of electrical experience, including hands-on work with wiring and electrical components.

  • Practical knowledge of wiring practices, including wire sizing, stripping, and crimping operations.

  • Understanding of electrical circuit theory and the ability to apply it to control assemblies.

  • Knowledge of AC and DC voltage systems and their application in control panels and assemblies.

  • Familiarity with control relays and their role in electrical control systems.

  • Capability to perform mechanical assembly using screws, nuts, bolts, washers, and related hardware.

  • Ability to lift and handle items up to 50 lbs safely in a shop environment.

  • Ownership and regular use of personal hand tools required for electrical and mechanical assembly work.

  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a small assembly team while meeting production deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as an assembler, mechanical assembler, wire assembler, cabling technician, or control assembler is beneficial.

  • Comfort working in a small-shop environment with approximately 10 people.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in electrical assembly, including entry-level candidates with foundational electrical experience.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable control assemblies.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to periods of higher workload to meet hard deadlines.

Why Work Here?

You will join a small, close-knit team in a laid-back environment that values steady, full-time work and hands-on learning. The role offers consistent 40+ hours per week, with opportunities to gain meaningful experience in electrical assembly and control systems.
