Job summary

TransPak is seeking a hands-on wood crate builder in Oregon. You will construct crates from blueprints using power tools, track progress in the Ops Center, and ensure on-time delivery while following strict safety rules.

The role requires 3 months of carpentry experience, use of dimensional and electrical tools, and basic computer skills for job logging. A team environment and strict adherence to procedures are emphasized.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build wood crates using power tools according to cut sheets

• Assemble bases or skids and ensure measurements match cut sheets within tolerance

Your Role

Shift and Hours : Morning, 5am - 3:30pm

Work Schedule : Mon-Thurs

Reports Into : Manager

Using your strong teamwork skills, you will safely and efficiently build wood crates using blueprints (cut sheets) and power tools to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. You will log in and out of jobs in the Ops Center (Production software planning system) to track jobs and follow production schedules. You’ll also follow safety and personal protective equipment requirements

What You’ll Be Doing

Builds various sized wood crates while safely using power tools

i.e., nail and staple guns, power drills, grinders, and hammers

Use tape measure to ensure the measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8 th inch

Safe ladder use required when assembling the tops (caps) of crates

May need to assemble bases or skids for crates on the ground. This requires use of a 20 pound, 3.5-inch nail gun while crouching and/or kneeling

Able to read, interpret, find, and document possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors

Use of adhesives to apply foam to wood crates and conduct specification checks

Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures

Use of equipment and when to speak to your supervisor

Follow all procedures, policies and understand equipment use, before use

To ensure safety, report equipment defects and/or maintenance needs to your supervisor

To help protect yourself and others, please report any unsafe acts to your supervisor
