Job summary

Dollar General in Shenandoah, PA is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in all store processes, supervise employees, manage staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, and handle store paperwork. This role is intended to develop external candidates toward a Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, in-stock targets, customer service leadership, and compliance with policies and security procedures.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Perform basic math including percentages and totals.
• Know cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Learn IBM cash register functions and reporting requirements.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Follow deposits, keys, safety and security protocols.
• Recruit, hire and train staff while complying with laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Oversee inventory management and in-stock targets.
• Ensure proper ordering practices to meet targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store guidance.
• Ensure policy compliance and cashier accountability.
• Support opening/closing and safe deposit of funds.
