Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling paperwork. This position is designed to develop external candidates for a Store Manager role and is held for a limited period.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to supervise employees and manage scheduling.
• Experience with inventory control, stock levels and receiving.
• Familiarity with cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Knowledge of merchandising, pricing and store signage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking of merchandise.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store and ensure security procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and cash controls.
