Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Buying Intern for a 10-week summer program that mirrors the day-to-day life of a full-time associate, with exposure to merchandise selection, pricing, and market visits in Los Angeles. The program includes leadership seminars, retail math and Excel training, a visit to market in Los Angeles, collaborative projects, and direct mentorship from a current Assistant Buyer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with expected graduation Dec 2027–Aug 2028.
• Affinity for retail math, product/merchandising, and Buying career.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Data-driven problem-solver with strong collaboration.
• Willing to travel within California for vendor visits and market trips.

Responsibilities

• Support the buying team in merchandise selection, negotiation, and pricing.
• Plan/coordinate product availability for ads and promotions.
• Assist in assortment planning to meet customer demand.
• Prepare trend boards by researching seasonal buys.
• Update and track purchase orders for on-time delivery.
• Travel to market visits 1-2 days per week to meet vendors.
• Participate in competitive shopping to identify opportunities and trends.
• Collaborate across departments to execute assignments.
