Job summary

Shopko Optical in Washington state seeks a dedicated supervisor to assist the General Manager in daily store operations, including eyewear dispensing, patient care and team development.

You will help hire, train and coach staff, lead the team in GM’s absence, and steer efforts to meet sales and financial targets. A strong customer service mindset and retail/optical experience are essential.

Qualifications

• ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion.
• In Washington State, the GMIT teammate is required to be a licensed optician.
• Supervisory experience with strong customer service focus (preferably in an optical store or retail setting).
• Able to analyze and solve issues of varied scope and implement solutions.
• Solid organizational and planning skills.
• Able to analyze financial data, recognize opportunities for improvement and formulate plans.
• Able to set impactful goals and motivate team to deliver results.
• Able to multi-task and remain flexible in an ever-changing environment.
• Demonstrate commitment to provide great customer service.
• Solid computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the store.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching and performance management of the store team.
• Lead team in General Manager’s absence.
• Lead team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver sales and financial results.
• Model service, patient care and selling techniques to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Drive optical initiatives through team by planning and scheduling appropriately.
• Identify opportunities to grow business and develop business plans.
• Assist with store scheduling and HR compliance.
