Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Drug & Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee to introduce you to the full scope of case management within a supportive training program. You will learn assessment, service planning, and resource coordination to help clients access needed drug and alcohol services.

This full-time role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, willingness to complete guided training, and the ability to work standard hours with occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or related field; or 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training may meet educational requirements.
• You must be within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree to meet educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assessment Training: Learn assessment techniques to gather important information from clients and support identification of service needs
• Care Level Support: Assist in determining the correct level of care based on established guidelines
• Service Authorization: Help review funding options and recommend appropriate drug and alcohol services
• Client Orientation: Guide clients through program procedures and the treatment process
• Service Planning: Develop and adjust client service plans using assessment results
• Resource Coordination: Connect clients with available drug, alcohol, and ancillary services

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or related field; or a Bachelor’s Degree which includes or is supplemented by 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences
