Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. invites motivated students to join its Futures Internship as a Commercial Construction Intern in New York, offering hands‑on experience under senior project leaders and superintendents.

The 10‑week program provides exposure to bid packages, subcontractor coordination, document control, site reviews, and safety and quality control, with mentorship and networking opportunities across the industry.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction, engineering, or business.
• Previous internship, volunteer work, or related experience is a plus.
• Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the 10-week program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support various aspects of project delivery alongside project managers and superintendents.
• Assist with subcontractors and supplier coordination, material tracking, and file management.
• Contribute to document control processes, including drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Support the preparation of bid packages and assist in soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids.
• Aid in progress reporting and updates for internal teams and client communication.
• Assist with jobsite responsibilities such as reviewing construction drawings, verifying site conditions, coordinating trades, and supporting safety and quality control efforts.
• Actively engage in networking and social events, professional development opportunities, educational classes (including software training).
