Job summary

HITT Contracting seeks a Commercial Construction Intern for Summer 2027 through the HITT Futures Program in Virginia. The 10-week paid internship offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and networking opportunities, preparing you for roles in construction management.

Responsibilities include supporting project delivery, coordinating with subcontractors, managing documents, and assisting with bid packages and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction, engineering, or business.
• Prior internship, volunteer work, or related experience is a plus.
• Willingness to commit to a 10-week summer program (approx. 40 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Support project delivery with project managers and superintendents.
• Assist subcontractors, material tracking, and document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
• Aid in bid packages, subcontractor bids, progress reports, and client communication.
• Assist site reviews, coordination of trades, and safety/quality efforts.
• Engage in networking, professional development, and software training.
