Job summary

APAC Alabama, Inc., part of CRH’s South Division, is a leading asphalt and construction services provider in the southeastern U.S. We operate in Alabama and require a full-time Asphalt Roller Operator to bring asphalt, soils, and aggregate within compaction specs on major highway projects.

The role demands experience or familiarity with asphalt rollers, knowledge of rolling patterns, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic construction site environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating an Asphalt Roller on road construction projects preferred.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics.
• Knowledge of rolling patterns.
• Familiarity with vibrating frequencies in relation to maximum depth.
• Must be able to follow grades.
• Must be able to repetitively lift 30 pounds and have good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operates Asphalt Roller and compactors to achieve specified compaction.
• Maintains safe and efficient operation on heavy highway projects.
• Follows grades and compaction specifications and notes any issues.
• Assists with basic equipment knowledge and maintenance as needed.
