Job summary

CRH, via APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Construction, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform inspections and testing of aggregates and asphalt on highway projects, ensuring premium quality and compliance with contract specs. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Additional college, technical school, or relevant experience preferred
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, background check, and “Fit for Work” physical
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with fleet safety standards
• Minimum age of 18 and ability to provide valid I-9 documentation

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with dedicated co-workers and managers in a dynamic team setting
• Champion a safe work environment, strictly following all company, OSHA and MSHA safety policies
• Conduct thorough inspections, sampling, and testing of aggregates, asphalt, and other materials to ensure premium quality
• Test mixtures for compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerances
• Monitor daily processes and materials to consistently exceed agency and customer requirements
• Record and maintain accurate data in our test results database
• Assist internal and external customers with professionalism and efficiency
• Achieve necessary certifications promptly to stay at the cutting edge
• Support quality control plans and help keep work areas clean and organized
• Perform other duties as needed to support team success
