Job summary

Texas Materials, A CRH company, is seeking a Hot Mix Asphalt QC Tech Level 1A in Houston to inspect, test, and document plant operations. You will build relationships with DOT, municipal personnel, and suppliers while ensuring mix production quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, DOT testing certifications, and a TxDOT Level 1B certification. Safety training and teamwork are essential in this hands-on position with occasional travel and night/weekend

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain DOT certifications to test asphalt as required by state regulations.
• Less than one year of related field experience.
• Candidate must have TxDOT certified level 1B (plant production specialist certification).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for quality control.
• Sample and test mixtures to stay in contract specs and quality control tolerances.
• Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to meet requirements.
• Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database.
• Maintain all laboratory equipment and certification paperwork.
• Follow quality control plans and safety procedures.
• Ensure a safe work environment and wear PPE as required.
