Job summary

Staker Parson Companies in Utah is seeking an Asphalt Groundsperson to support asphalt plant operations. The role involves performing a variety of manual tasks, following supervisor directions, and working at heights.

Night shift work is required, with emphasis on safety, equipment maintenance, and efficient plant production. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and any related construction experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily THINK/TRACK meetings plus weekly safety meetings.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Assists in plant production of materials and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
• Walk and monitor the asphalt plant while in production to identify any issues.
• Performs daily maintenance pre-checks on the plant and equipment.
• Ensures that all assigned equipment is properly maintained, clean, in a safe working order and operated properly.
• Prepares plant for operations at the beginning of the season and performs shut down procedures at the end of the season.
• Operates front end loader, skidsteer, end dump truck and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Performs plant maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Work night shift.
