Asphalt Plant Operator - Montgomery, AL (Manufacturing)

Position Overview:

This is a skilled position responsible for controlling the production and load-out of materials in the plant. The role primarily serves the Montgomery area. The plant operator ensures the efficient operation of plant equipment, performing minor maintenance and referring major issues to supervisors.

Requirements:

1. Conduct walk-around surveys of plant equipment, identifying maintenance needs, worn parts, emissions issues, and housekeeping concerns. Operate levers to regulate material flow.
2. Successfully initiate and manage plant start-up and shutdown procedures. Navigate computer systems for system operations, troubleshooting, reporting, and electronic communication. Ensure safety for all personnel and the public.
3. Monitor gauges and computer data to optimize plant productivity while maintaining equipment integrity.
4. Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning tasks.
5. Support colleagues with heavy or awkward tasks as needed.
6. Communicate effectively across all organizational levels regarding plant operations, issues, and improvements. Provide accurate updates on daily performance. Proactively troubleshoot and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
