This is a skilled position controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants. The position will mainly operate in the Montgomery area. The plant operator is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of plant equipment and performing minor servicing and maintenance, referring major issues to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Perform preliminary walk-around surveys of plant’s crushing equipment, identify maintenance issues, preventive maintenance needs, worn parts, emissions controls, and housekeeping items. Ability to operate levers to regulate flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, or storage bins.
• Successfully initiate plant start-up and shutdown processes. Navigate through computer screens to perform start-ups, shutdowns, troubleshoot, retrieve reports, and submit electronically when system allows. Ensure safety of crew and public at the jobsite.
• Monitor critical gauges and computer information to maximize plant productivity while preserving assets involved in crushing operations.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning processes.
• Support other operators or maintenance staff during heavy or awkward duties.
• Communicate effectively across all organizational levels regarding plant status, needs, issues, and efficiency improvements. Provide accurate, timely information about daily operations. Be proactive in troubleshooting and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
