Job summary

Allan Myers Inc. is seeking a motivated operator to join an asphalt production crew at our Leesburg, VA facility. The role emphasizes safety, quality control coordination, and efficient plant operation in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with automated drum and batch plant systems, support production planning, and assist with maintenance. Prior equipment experience is beneficial, and growth opportunities exist within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires basic mechanical skills and basic knowledge of computers.
• Mobile or stationary equipment experience is beneficial as is experience in the manufacturing or construction industries.
• Physical Demands - Labor can range from light to heavy. PPE and safety precautions required.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt plant – automated drum and batch plant systems; operations controlled through automated computer systems and control boards.
• Communicate with quality control personnel to ensure specifications are met and adjust mix formulas and production accordingly.
• Monitor plant status, adjust plant operations, load out material onto dump trucks, dispatch trucks.
• Coordinate with internal paving crews and project teams and external customers to adjust production to maximize profits and maintain quality.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through quality and customer service.
• Keep plant running at optimal performance to avoid downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to a safe working environment and participate in safety discussions.
• Schedule production needs for the following day and adjust current day schedule.
• Document daily, weekly, and monthly activities as needed.
• Plan next day production and order raw materials.
• Assist in preventative maintenance, repairs, and downtime reduction; perform winter maintenance as needed.
• Assist as an equipment operator when required; operate CAT loaders and other equipment as trained; conduct pre-shift inspections.
