Job summary

CRH seeks a skilled technician to diagnose, adjust, and repair plant equipment at an asphalt production facility. The role includes operating off-road haul trucks, loaders, and stock trucks, with training across multiple operation areas. May involve daytime, nighttime, weekend hours as needed.

Candidate will maintain equipment, perform routine servicing, troubleshoot issues, and support plant production ensuring safety and efficiency. Valid driver’s license and high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating documents.
• Welding, torching, and mechanical aptitude strongly beneficial.
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety regulations and company policies (OSHA/MSHA).
• Monitor operations for health and safety compliance and report issues.
• Maintain clear communication and safe practices around coworkers and equipment.
• Follow directions from supervisors and foremen on daily tasks and projects.
• Perform mid-level cutting, welding, and fabrication work.
• Maintain and repair plant equipment (conveyors, motors, bearings, guarding).
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine servicing and minor maintenance.
• Safely unload liquid hot oil from delivery trucks.
• Communicate maintenance and repair status to team and management.
• Assist with plant production and ensure equipment runs efficiently.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections with documentation.
• Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and materials.
• Requires daytime, nighttime & some weekend hours; travel within operational area may be required.
