Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks an Asphalt Plant Laborer in Golden, Colorado. This role involves manual and equipment-based tasks that support the production of hot mix asphalt, ensuring a clean and safe plant environment. The Asphalt Plant Laborer is a vital member of the plant crew, responsible for performing a wide range of manual and equipment-based tasks that support the production of high-quality hot mix asphalt. This role is foundational to the plant’s daily operations, focusing on maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workspace. Beyond manual labor, the Laborer is expected to assist with preventative maintenance, manage inventory through material handling, and eventually cross‑train on various mobile equipment to support the overall production goals of the facility.
Education
Must possess a Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
Work Experience
1+ years of experience in asphalt or construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. Must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
Strong hand‑eye‑foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. Must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
All duties require outside assignments and periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dB.
Base hourly rate for this position is $25.49+. Membership with Laborers No. 720 is required upon hire. Conditions and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
