Martin Marietta is seeking an Asphalt Plant Laborer in Golden, Colorado, to support production of high-quality hot mix asphalt. This role includes performing manual and equipment-based tasks, assisting with maintenance, and managing material handling for optimal production efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a Class C driver’s license, a high school diploma, and at least 1 year of construction experience. The position also offers a robust benefits package, including health insurance and a retirement plan.
The Asphalt Plant Laborer is a vital member of the plant crew, responsible for performing a wide range of manual and equipment‑based tasks that support the production of high‑quality hot mix asphalt. This role is foundational to the plant’s daily operations, focusing on maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workspace. Beyond manual labor, the Laborer is expected to assist with preventative maintenance, manage inventory through material handling, and eventually cross‑train on various mobile equipment to support the overall production goals of the facility.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for plant maintenance and equipment servicing. Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. Maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders. Strong hand‑eye‑foot coordination and good depth perception for distances up to 150 feet.
All duties require outside assignments and work in all weather conditions—cold, wet, dry, and dusty. Noise levels may reach up to 85 db.
Membership with the Laborers No. 720 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
