Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an Asphalt Laborer to assist with placement, finishing, and maintenance of asphalt on construction projects in Meridian, ID. This role supports paving crews to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.

Responsibilities include shoveling, leveling asphalt, operating around heavy equipment, and following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Construction or asphalt/paving experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor (lift/bend/stand for long periods).
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in placement, spreading, and leveling of asphalt materials.
• Support paving operations with shoveling and smoothing.
• Work around heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, and trucks.
• Follow grade and prep instructions for proper thickness and finish.
• Clean tools and work areas; perform routine maintenance.
• Direct traffic and maintain safe work zones as needed.
• Collaborate with crew to meet production goals.
