Job Description

Perform asphalt paving machine operator duties on an asphalt paving lay down crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt rubber-tired and track paving machines that spread and level asphalt on highways, parking lots, streets, and related surfaces.
• May perform maintenance such as oiling, greasing, servicing, and adjusting equipment.
• Assist with tasks like adding/removing screed extensions and installing/removing automatic devices or accessories.
• Guide and direct dump trucks backing up to the hopper.

Minimum Qualifications & Training

• At least one year of experience; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver's License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks related to paving operations.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to safety rules and policies.
• Reliable, trustworthy team player with good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and some nights.
• Military Base pass may be required for some positions.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions

• Involves standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
• Regularly lift 25 pounds or more; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve full days of 12 to 15 hours, including exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Must be able to ride to and from work; company vehicle driving must meet qualification standards.
• Overtime work may be required.
