Job Description:

Perform asphalt paving machine operator duties on an asphalt paving lay down crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate asphalt rubber-tired and track paving machines that spread and level asphalt on highways, parking lots, streets, etc.
• Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment as needed.
• Perform related duties such as adding/removing screed extensions and installing/removing automatic devices or accessories.
• Guide and direct dump trucks backing up to the hopper.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• One year of experience; training available for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver's License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks within paving operations.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to safety rules and policies.
• Reliable, trustworthy team player with good attendance and safety record.
• Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and some nights.
• Military base pass may be required for certain positions.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

• Physical motions include standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, reaching, and squatting.
• Regularly lift 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve 12 to 15-hour days, including walking and standing.
• Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be able to ride to and from work; driving company vehicles must meet driver qualification standards.
• Overtime may be required.
