Job Description:

Perform asphalt paving machine operator duties on an asphalt paving laydown crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate asphalt rubber-tired and track paving machines to spread and level asphalt on highways, parking lots, streets, etc.
• May oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• May perform duties such as adding/removing screed extensions or installing/removing accessories on machines.
• Guide and direct dump trucks backing up to the hopper.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• One year of experience; training available for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver's License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple paving tasks.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and safety rules.
• Reliable team player with good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and some nights.
• Military Base pass may be required for some positions.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

• Standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
• Regular lifting of 25 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Long hours (12-15 hours), exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Riding to and from work; company vehicle driving standards apply if applicable.
• Overtime required.
