Job summary

Certerra - PRI is seeking a Pavement Services Technician to join our Tampa, FL laboratory team. The successful candidate will perform HMA, aggregate, and soil testing to ensure compliance with specifications and support R&D initiatives.

Responsibilities include operating advanced lab equipment, preparing daily reports, and collaborating with the Pavement Services Team to meet deadlines. Strong math, reading, and communication skills are essential for success in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience as a laboratory technician, field technician, or in a related construction materials testing role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and evaluation of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), aggregates, and soils.
• Conduct testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other applicable industry standards.
• Analyze test results and verify compliance with project and specification requirements.
• Support research and development activities related to asphalt paving materials and processes.
• Maintain accurate testing records and documentation.
• Prepare and provide daily reports and testing updates to management.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory testing equipment within a state-of-the-art asphalt laboratory.
• Coordinate and collaborate with members of the Pavement Services Team.
• Ensure testing is completed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Follow company safety policies, quality procedures, and laboratory protocols.
