Position Summary:

A Paving Laborer position includes various manual tasks associated with paving operations.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
• Must be on site at scheduled start time for the Daily Huddle and Tool Box Talk.
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours.
• Able to climb ladders maintaining a 3-point contact.
• Can perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Able to effectively shovel and lute asphalt and push a wheelbarrow.
• Assist with layout of project and marking of roadway structures.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with all Team Members and supervisors.
• Able to operate a tack wagon.
• Assist with MOT set up and flagging operations.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of tools and equipment.
• Assist in the backing of dump trucks in a safe manner.
• Ensure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all times.
• Assist in daily project inspection prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete.
