Job summary

Duininck Texas is seeking a Seasonal full-time asphalt distributor operator to apply tack and support paving projects at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. You will operate a distributor, monitor performance, coordinate with crew, and maintain safety standards.

The role requires CDL A with hazmat/tanker endorsements, a DOT health card, and willingness to travel and work outdoors in varied weather. Prior experience with paving equipment is a plus, and strong safety awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements is required.
• Current DOT health card is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates distributor safely to apply tack according to paving specifications.
• Prepares distributor and monitors performance to meet paving specs.
• Coordinate with crew using hand signals to ensure safety.
• Conduct daily inspection and maintenance; ensure distributor is safe and properly lubricated.
• Report to shop when distributor needs maintenance or repair.
• Keep equipment clean and ready for transport on flatbed when required.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness and safety at the jobsite.
• Follow Supervisor’s instructions closely.
• Assist with lifting up to 80 pounds; ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work extended hours outdoors in varied weather; travel and some Saturday work required.

This position with Duininck Texas offers the opportunity to join our paving crew and successfully operate a distributor that is used to apply tack to the surface being paved. Applicants must have an active and valid CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

This position will be working on a project at the Randolph Air Force base in San Antonio, TX and will therefore require additional security clearance to be on the base.

The Role:

• Operates distributor safely to apply tack according to paving specifications.
• Prepares distributor and continuously monitors performance to achieve the required specifications for paving.
• Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that distributor is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Reports to shop when distributor needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Travel and some Saturday work are required.
