Job summary

Duininck, a fourth-generation family-led company, seeks to hire for a seasonal paving role in Texas participating on projects including Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. You will operate a distributor to apply tack, perform safety-conscious prep and maintenance, and coordinate with the crew to meet exact paving specs.

Applicants must hold a CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements, a current DOT health card, and be willing to travel and work some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Active CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements required.
• Must understand safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and use hand signals for coordination.
• Current DOT health card required.

Responsibilities

• Operate distributor safely to apply tack to paving per specs.
• Prepare distributor and monitor performance to meet paving specs.
• Coordinate with crew using hand signals and ensure safety.
• Perform daily distributor inspections and maintenance; ensure proper lubrication.
• Report maintenance needs to shop; keep equipment clean and ready for transport.
• Maintain orderliness and safety at the jobsite; work extended hours.
• Travel and some Saturday work required.

This position with Duininck Texas offers the opportunity to join our paving crew and successfully operate a distributor that is used to apply tack to the surface being paved. Applicants must have an active and valid CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

This position will be working on a project at the Randolph Air Force base in San Antonio, TX and will therefore require additional security clearance to be on the base.

The Role:

• Operates distributor safely to apply tack according to paving specifications.
• Prepares distributor and continuously monitors performance to achieve the required specifications for paving.
• Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that distributor is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Reports to shop when distributor needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follows Supervisor's instructions closely.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Travel and some Saturday work are required.
