Job summary

IA Construction Corporation is seeking Laboratory and Field Technicians to perform QA/QC testing in asphalt and aggregate labs and to collect samples on construction sites.

Responsibilities include promoting safety, operating equipment safely, participating in pre-shift huddles, reporting incidents, and following ASTM/AASHTO testing standards. The role requires adaptability to indoors and outdoor conditions and occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and safety culture.
• Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Participate in pre-shift safety huddles.
• Report incidents and accidents to supervisor or management.
• Maintain open communication with team to promote productivity.
• Report safety hazards to management/safety officer.
• If at an aggregate site, complete MSHA training on hire and annually.
• QA/QC testing of bituminous asphalt, asphalt content and gradation, and density/SG of compacted mix.
• Test aggregate materials, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, voids, loss of sodium/magnesium, and crush counts.
• Inventory products, QC sampling, scheduling, specs, gradations, and crush checks.
• Bituminous mix design development and PA design processes for HMC and WMA as per jobspecifications.
