Job summary

Arrow Tank & Engineering in Cambridge, MN is seeking a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer to design, analyze, and support pressure vessels in compliance with ASME Section VIII. The role collaborates with manufacturing, quality, and project management to deliver safe, cost‑effective engineered solutions.

You will perform detailed calculations, code reviews, and fabrication support, while preparing drawings, BOMs, and documentation. Strong CAD skills and knowledge of welding processes are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of design experience in metal fabrication, pressure vessels, tanks.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar).
• Strong welding, fabrication, and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design pressure vessels per ASME VIII, Division 1 and customer requirements.
• Perform detailed calculations, code reviews, and structural analyses.
• Provide technical guidance to shop personnel during fabrication and welding.
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams.
• Develop material specifications and select appropriate materials.
• Support process improvements and standardization efforts.
