Job summary

LaundryOne is seeking a Project Engineer to take the lead in designing and developing pressure-containing vessels from quotation through installation. You will specify reliable solutions, ensure compliance with ASME standards, and collaborate with sales and operations teams for successful project execution.

A B.S. in Engineering and experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks) are required. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills and a multi-faceted engineering aptitude, ensuring efficient manufacturing and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with engineering and design standards.
  • Experience with ASME code calculation and design software (e.g., Compress or PVElite).

Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Section 8 Division 1 code calculations on all proposed and sold pressure containing vessels. The Project Engineer takes the lead in the design and development of the project from the quoting stage all the way through equipment installation and start‑up.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Specifying a cost‑effective and reliable solution to meet or exceed the objective of the associated application.
  • Work closely with sales as a consultative selling partner to assist in converting the quote to an order.
  • Perform product design functions in the appropriate CAD software.
  • Ensure all designs are code‑compliant (when required) and all required documentation is provided.
  • Apply ASME Pressure Vessel code Section VIII, Division 1 to code calculations for pressure retaining vessel designs.
  • Obtain customer approvals for drawings and designs when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with operations management and shop floor personnel to ensure efficient manufacture of related products.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to specify purchased products within set standards and engage necessary 3rd‑party vendor partners.
  • Advisory role with CAD during the Process Engineering phase to prepare sub‑components and components for manufacture.
  • Support quality in tracking and root cause analysis of any Cost of Quality measurements.
  • Take a lead role in the timely resolution of any customer service or field service issues.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Travel as required.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, managing a wide variety of priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong multi‑faceted engineering aptitude, with mechanical engineering skills as a requirement.
  • Highly computer‑literate, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs and ERP.
  • Experience with CAD software, ideally AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience / Education
  • Minimum B.S. in Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong familiarity with engineering and design standards.
  • Relevant industry experience is a definite plus, but not required.
  • Experience with ASME code calculation and design software (e.g., Compress or PVElite).
  • Accredited PE license in ASME pressure vessel design would be beneficial.
