Job summary

Mn State Academies is seeking a MSAD Special Teacher-ASL Specialist to design and deliver instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students. The role includes supporting sign language proficiency testing and maintaining documentation, with a 10-month calendar following the school year.

Qualified candidates must hold a DHH Minnesota teaching license or be able to obtain one before start, and demonstrate ASL mastery.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Deaf/hard of hearing Minnesota Teacher license or obtain before start date.
• Knowledge of Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) or similar ASL rating system.
• Familiarity with deaf/hard of hearing and deaf/blind student education practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of academic instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students.
• Provide educational instruction using diverse strategies to encourage appropriate behaviors.
• Maintain and assist with SLPI testing, rating and tracking information.
