Job summary

Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring Behavioral Support Staff to provide in-home and community support for adults with disabilities in the Greater Sacramento area. Roles include assisting with ADLs, meal prep, money management, and community integration, with ASL skills often required for communication with clients who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions with shifts including weekdays, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of qualifying behavioral experience (professional/work-related).
• May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear MVR for driving positions.
• Must have ASL skills (level dependent on client served).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for adults with physical and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.
• Assist with hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living activities.
• Help clients develop independence and community connections.
• Support with money management, personal growth, and health management.
• Implement behavior support strategies and de-escalation as needed.
