The Residential Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transport them to post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate residential/recycling collection trucks and ancillary equipment to collect waste and recyclables.
2. Load waste, yard waste, and recyclables into the truck.
3. Operate equipment to compact trash.
4. Perform safety inspections and report issues.
5. Maintain route quality and safety standards.
6. Ensure vehicle cleanliness and proper waste tagging.
7. Manage helpers if applicable and follow all safety and legal regulations.
8. Maintain accurate service records and inventory.
9. Assist in route optimization and attend safety meetings.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety standards and operate trucks safely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of truck components and maintenance.
• Ability to maneuver trucks and recognize unacceptable waste.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to change.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift various weights.
• Visual acuity and ability to work in loud, outdoor environments.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to loud noise, weather conditions, and mechanical hazards.
• Work primarily outdoors, often in traffic and high precarious places.
