Harvard University is seeking a full-time American Sign Language Coordinator within the Department of Linguistics to support ASL program accessibility and instructional needs. You will coordinate interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and staff, and collaborate with faculty and interpreters to ensure effective communication access across the department.

Qualificações

• Three years’ experience as an ASL interpreter.
• Experience in higher education or research environments as an ASL interpreter.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Provide signed language interpretation for deaf and/or hard-of-hearing faculty, staff, and students in classrooms, meetings, academic events, and other university-related settings.
• Coordinate and schedule additional ASL interpreters for courses, research meetings, academic presentations, conferences, special events, and other activities requiring communication access.
• Assist in evaluating interpreting needs and identifying opportunities for service improvements.
• Educate faculty, staff, and students on interpreter roles, best practices for working with interpreters, and communication accessibility.
