Job summary

HealthPartners and Regions Hospital are seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services in-person and for Video Visits. The interpreter must hold active RID/NAD certification and have experience in a health care setting, including mental health interpreting and tactile, DeafBlind interpreting.

The role is per diem, on-call during daytime hours, with focus on in-person interpreting and potential hospital/clinical assignments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.
• Active RID/NAD certification as NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, NAD Level IV/V.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting in-person and for Video Visits in clinical settings and hospital.
• Work per diem on-call daytime hours.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to meet patient communication needs.
• Potential tactile, DeafBlind interpreting as required.

HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services both in-person and for Video Visits.

Interpreter must hold certification as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates will have experience interpreting in a health care setting and can help meet unique communication needs across the patient population, including experience in mental health interpreting as well as providing tactile, DeafBlind interpreting. Strong candidates will be able to work both independently and as part of team, when needed. Interpreting for video visits may be a part of this role as well, but focus will mostly be on in-person interpreting. May be asked to interpret in the clinical setting as well as within the hospital.

Work Schedule:

Per Diem (On-call, typically daytime hours.

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED


• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.


• Active certification through the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID):NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, TCor National Association of the Deaf (NAD):Level IV/V (full complement of CEUs must be submitted to RID by October 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle).
