Job summary

Regions Hospital seeks a certified ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services in-person and for Video Visits within HealthPartners/Regions Hospital. The interpreter will work per diem on-call, typically daytime hours, and may interpret in clinical or hospital settings as needed.

Qualified candidates will hold RID certification and NAD levels, with healthcare interpreting experience and ability to support Deaf, DeafBlind, and mental health interpreting scenarios as required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.
• Active certification through RID (NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC) and NAD (Level IV/V) with CEUs submitted by Oct 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in-person and for Video Visits.
• Interpreting for clinical settings and within the hospital as needed.
• Work on a per diem, on-call schedule (typically daytime hours).

HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services both in-person and for Video Visits.

Interpreter must hold certification as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates will have experience interpreting in a health care setting and can help meet unique communication needs across the patient population, including experience in mental health interpreting as well as providing tactile, DeafBlind interpreting. Strong candidates will be able to work both independently and as part of team, when needed. Interpreting for video visits may be a part of this role as well, but focus will mostly be on in-person interpreting. May be asked to interpret in the clinical setting as well as within the hospital.

Work Schedule:

Per Diem (On-call, typically daytime hours.

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED
• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.
• Active certification through the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID): NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, TCor National Association of the Deaf (NAD): Level IV/V (full complement of CEUs must be submitted to RID by October 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of Nationally Accredited Interpreter Training Program. Some general college preferred.
