Job summary

HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services in-person and for Video Visits. The interpreter must hold RID/NAD certification and have health care interpreting experience, including DeafBlind/tactile interpreting.

The role may involve clinical and hospital settings, with on-call daytime hours for per diem coverage. Preferred candidates have strong independence as well as teamwork skills and are able to interpret across various patient

Qualifications

• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.
• Active certification through RID/NAD with full CEU requirements.
• NAD Level IV/V CEUs completed as applicable by RID/NAD cycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpreting in clinical settings and within the hospital.
• Support interpreting for video visits as needed.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet patient communication needs, including DeafBlind/tactile interpreting.

HealthPartners and Regions Hospital is seeking an ASL Interpreter to provide interpreting services both in-person and for Video Visits.

Interpreter must hold certification as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates will have experience interpreting in a health care setting and can help meet unique communication needs across the patient population, including experience in mental health interpreting as well as providing tactile, DeafBlind interpreting. Strong candidates will be able to work both independently and as part of team, when needed. Interpreting for video visits may be a part of this role as well, but focus will mostly be on in-person interpreting. May be asked to interpret in the clinical setting as well as within the hospital.

Work Schedule:

Per Diem (On-call, typically daytime hours.

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED


• 4 years interpreting experience with at least 3 years medical interpreting experience.


• Active certification through the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID):NIC, CI, CT, CSC, IC, TCor National Association of the Deaf (NAD):Level IV/V (full complement of CEUs must be submitted to RID by October 1 during the last year of the 4-year cycle).
