Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS), Bureau of Rehabilitation Services seeks two skilled Interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team. This is a full-time role with 40 hours per week, statewide assignments and regular travel across Connecticut.

Qualifications

• Must hold National Interpreting Certification and CT interpreter registration.
• Fluency in more than one interpreting modality.
• Experience with accessibility laws and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Code of Professional Conduct.
• Travel across Connecticut is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality in-person and/or virtual interpretation services at client sites and partner organizations statewide.
• Support diverse communities by facilitating accurate, culturally responsive communication using appropriate interpreting modalities.
• Attend staff meetings and similar events at the assigned ADS office.
