Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) seeks two full-time interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide high‑quality expressive and receptive interpreting. You will ensure clear communication, foster inclusion, and guarantee equal access to programs statewide. Open positions: two, Monday–Friday, 40 hours weekly.

Travel statewide with mileage reimbursement. Proficiency in ASL required for interview.

Qualifications

• Must possess National Interpreting Certification and be registered with the State of Connecticut.
• Preferred: fluency in more than one interpreting modality.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, in-person and/or virtual interpretation at client sites and partner organizations statewide.
• Facilitate accurate, culturally responsive communication using appropriate interpreting modalities.
• Attend staff meetings and events at the assigned ADS office.
• Travel to various locations across Connecticut for interpreting assignments.
