Job summary

Imperial Valley College seeks a Professional Expert - Sign Language Interpreter to provide confidential interpreting services for Deaf and hard of hearing students, faculty and staff. Duties include interpreting lectures, events, and conferences between English and ASL, with RID Code of Professional Conduct adherence across Level III–V scenarios.

The role requires completion of the college interpreter evaluation and may involve work at varying campus locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of Imperial Valley College's interpreter evaluation with a Level III/IV/V score.
• Knowledge of RID Code of Professional Conduct and interpreters' ethical standards.
• Ability to provide accurate transliteration and interpretation services.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services for Deaf and hard of hearing students, faculty, staff, and community.
• Interpret lectures and events between English and American Sign Language (Voice-to-Sign and Sign-to-Voice).
• Work with other interpreters and adapt to varying classroom and campus events.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
